The video game library I have for my PS2 is small. My sole reason for getting a PS2 (thanks to Marla who actually bought it for me as a surprise) was for the Gran Turismo series of games. I have 2 3 and 4. I had the first one but it went with the PS1 I gave away. It's a great way to drive cars I could never afford and speeds I would never survive if I crashed =)
My friend Scott knows about another game series that I play (occasionally now): Dance Dance Revolution. I can only imagine the hilarity in seeing my 265 lbs try to grove on a small dance pad. It's a fun game though and great for get-togethers where alcohol may or may not be served.
Just yesterday I splurged on Tourist Trophy for the PS2. It's a motorcycle racing game from the creators of Gran Turismo, so I knew it would be well done. Graphics are great, sound and control are great. The only downside is that there are only a maximum of four bikes (including yours) on a track at any one time and some courses (such as Nurburgring) are one bike time trials only. I won't get into a full review here, but a quick google search will get a number of them if you so desire.
Here are some pictures from my first night playing:
And here's a picture of my "setup." The Logitech Driving Force Pro (saweet!) is for playing Gran Turismo and ToCA Race Driver 3. The TV is a 52" RCA HDTV we got for free a couple months back.

Wow Tony, at first glance I actually thought those were real photos of someone you knew...then I went back and actually read your blog.
NICE GRAPHICS!!
Scotty and the boy have been heavy into Ghost Recon as of late...you might want to check it out.
Congrats on the awaited "bundle o'joy" BTW!
Ghost recon... haven't tried that one yet. I used to play Rainbow 6 back in the day. I did use up a get out of jail free card with this last game purchase, so I'll have to put off any other games for a while;-)
Thanks for the congrats=) It's very exciting and scary at the same time.
How much was the racing wheel setup? (Kara look away), and have you heard anything on the GranTourismo for the XBox? I see a rental in my future.
Ghost Recon is one of the Best 1st person shooters I've seen, but my exposure has been limited.
I got Forza racing with the XBox at christmas, it is a good simulator, but the controls seem sluggish, and the gameplay is uninspiring...
I have had fun with the Need For Speed Series, Most wanted is a fun way to spend an afternoon, or 6...
The company that makes Gran Turismo (Polyphony Digital) is owned by Sony so it's highly unlikely that Gran Turismo will appear on Xbox. I've read that Forza is comparable to GT4 physics wise, but more people seem to gravitate towards GT.
The wheel and pedals were $129 US at Best Buy in Grand Forks, ND and the table was $9.99 at Walmart=) The Driving Force Pro is probably the best wheel out there, but unfortunately it's not compatible with xbox.
Scott, I also checked to see if your bike was in Tourist Trophy, but it's not =(
Yeah, the bike wasn't compatible...electrical problems >:(
Forza is realistic, but as I said the races are terribly boring.
Try DDR with two youngsters and a puppy...that's fun!!!
